DID YOU KNOW HOSTMONSTER DOES NOT HAVE UNLIMITED HOSTING. WE HAVE A SITE HOSTED WITH THEM AND THEY KILLED IT AFTER MORE THAN 15 USERS WERE USING THE MYSQL DATABASE. IF I HAD MONEY I WOULD HAVE SUED THEM FOR FALSE ADVERTISING. THEIR SERVERS ARE ALL AT MAX CAPACITY AND OVERSOLD AND THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT DOES NOT TAKE ANY CRAP FROM THE PUBLIC. THEY ARE ARROGANT AND MEAN AND LOST THE CAPABILITY TO SERVE THE CUSTOMER. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND USE ANOTHER HOSTING SERVICE. HOSTMONSTER IS IN ANY CASE JUST A RESELLER FOR BLUEHOST AND WONT EVEN ADMIT THAT. HOSTMONSTER SUCK BIG TIME.

are you using custom php script for accessing mysql database?
double make sure the scripts is not causing load, and they terminate database connection after making SQL query.
hostmonster is with cpu throttling, its allows short boost in cpu usage, and it should be able to perform better compare to other cpanel web host!
