Hostmonster.com is hosting plan that come with 300gb storage space and allow you to host unlimited domains, or websites in another word. Other than that, with hostmonster, you are given unlimited pop/IMAP email accounts. Meaning you can create or add as many email account you like, and each with own email space and login password. Each email also come with autoresponder, spam assissin & boxtrapper. Will come more on these mail spam protection on later posting.

From cpanel, you can login to the webmail through these: cpanel > webmail > choose horde or squirrelmail webmail. I most prefer horde cause the user interface is much better. Below are the screenshot of the horde and squirrelmail respectively:

You also can directly go to your webmail by browsing to yourdomain.com/webmail , and enter email login information to complete the login and goes to your email account. By this, eliminate the need to go through cpanel login.

After hosted with hostmonster for more than a week, finally i got the need to setup new email accounts at host monster. i want to have own email account and should look like “support [at] hostmonsterreview.org” … I will use this email for those seo, directory submission and website promotional work purpose.

Email setup at host monster is very easy and simple, i will tell you how and why after this. Basically, not only web developer can do this, any home user that is new to hosting and email setup can do this. Everything is step by step, and with clear message to guide you through. You will see what i meant.

Back to email setup at hostmonster. Login to your cpanel xp evolution control panel and go to mail menu. See figure below:

As you can see at the popup message “you can set up as many POP e-mail account as you require…”… And onyl with hostmonster hosting, you can have unlimited number of email accounts. Sign up here to get this features.

After doing that, you will now at the mail account maintenance interface…that look just like this. Where your existing email accounts will shown here, and you can change setting to it, change its mail box qouta, change password etc.

The way down, there is a button “add account”.. click on it and will open up a new page. Enter in your new email account name. Select which domain this email will attached to. You can setup email for addon domains as well, just selec the right domain name. Assign new password to this email, and Quota limit, left it to default value of 10Megs.

After you setup your email account, you can view its through the hostmonster webmail. Click on the webmail will bring up the new page which ask for password to login to your webmail. Enter password to proceed.

You can link this email account to your outlook account as well. I using outlook express, and the setup process is very simple. i just set the incoming mail server and outgoing mailserver to : mail.hostmonsterreview.org .. and leave the login with authentication those fancy setup blanked. Hostmonster email is easy connect to and not require any advance setup. Futhermore its using the standard smtp/email port 25. which is widely supported.
