From cpanel, you can login to the webmail through these: cpanel > webmail > choose horde or squirrelmail webmail. I most prefer horde cause the user interface is much better. Below are the screenshot of the horde and squirrelmail respectively:

You also can directly go to your webmail by browsing to yourdomain.com/webmail , and enter email login information to complete the login and goes to your email account. By this, eliminate the need to go through cpanel login.

Email setup at host monster is very easy and simple, i will tell you how and why after this. Basically, not only web developer can do this, any home user that is new to hosting and email setup can do this. Everything is step by step, and with clear message to guide you through. Back to email setup at hostmonster. Login to your cpanel xp evolution control panel and go to mail menu. See figure below:

After you setup your email account, you can view its through the hostmonster webmail. Click on the webmail will bring up the new page which ask for password to login to your webmail. Enter password to proceed.

You can link this email account to your outlook account as well. I using outlook express, and the setup process is very simple. i just set the incoming mail server and outgoing mailserver to : mail.hostmonsterreview.org .. and leave the login with authentication those fancy setup blanked. Hostmonster email is easy connect to and not require any advance setup. Futhermore its using the standard smtp/email port 25. which is widely supported.

What you will need to do is, FTP login to your server and locate the php.ini file. Edit the php.ini using notepad or any text editor… and add in these lines.

By this, your hostmonster php email will now support unicode characters. Basically this method will fix most of the charset problem. However, if this don’t solve it, do contact hostmonster support for futher assistant. Remember to inform them that editing the php.ini dont work.

A quick search at google search engine, bring me to hostmonster forums, and i read something very interesting. A post about “Host monster email limit”, and read on, found out that the defauly hourly limit is 50 emails, which is bit low. Total of 1200 daily email sending limit.

Very interesting part is, you could email hostmonster, and request for a free upgrade to this limit…. to 500 per hour. which gives you 12,000 daily SMTP email sending limits
