The new hostmonster domain manager tools is great, it extend the capability of the cpanel domain function alot. You can register new domain name via hostmonster, or activate domain privacy for domain registered via them, and you can view the WHOIS information for your domain names either its primary or addon domain.

Adding new domain name into hostmonster hosting account is really simple, you can use the cpanel > addon domain name to do the job. However, there is some changes to the addon domain interface and which allows you to choose adding domain as a ADDON or as a PARKED domain. Its a bit tricky when you choose to remove domain name from hostmonster account too. You got o go to hostmonster domain manager tab under cpanel control panel, from here choose the domain name you want to remove, on the right of the domain column you will see the status “ADDON”, click on the link, yes it is a link. This allow you to unassigned the addon domain name in first step, after doing so only you can proceed with domain removal from hostmonster hosting. Next is the final step, choose the domain name status UNASSIGNED again, and you can now totally remove the addon domain name from your hostmonster web hosting.

Its not hard, but when you doing it first time, it take us a spin to get it done.
Visit hostmonster hosting here and see their latest web hosting deals & hostmonster promo code offers!

“The domain yourdomainxxxxx.com is currently not assigned and can be removed from your account. This will not delete the domain registration. The domains will no longer show up in your cPanel Hosting domains list.“

Web hosting plan with unlimited domain hosting are getting more common. Is this mean that you can host thousands of unique websites in this single hosting plan? Find out the fast and limitation behind the unlimited domain hosting.

When we look through hosting plan package, it will be very attractive. Offering features like unlimited domain hosting, unlimited subdomain, unlimited parked domain etc. And some hosting even offering unlimited storage space and unlimited bandwidth. But our discussion this time will focus on the unlimited domain and its current fact.

After you sign up to a unlimited domain hosting, and when you login to cpanel, you will find out that the statistic on the left hand side will shows 999 addon domains. Plus your primary domain, you are given 1000 domains to be exact.

Its in fact not unlimited, but is limited to 1000 domain name. And each time you adding a new domain name, you will have total less one… 998, 997, 996 and so on. The term unlimited is not so true, and there is limits to this. The same 1000 limit caps apply to unlimited subdomain and unlimited parked domain as well.

Since you can host 1000 domain/website in single shared hosting account, but should you do it? Definitely not adviced to. If you are hosted more than 20-30 websites, your sites are start to slowing down, and might already use up lots of server resource. Soon later you will hit the usage limits and receive warning from the hosting provider.

For static page with no database at the backend, certainly you can have lots of sites running. But for website like wordpress blog, its adviced to keep them below 10 websites per shared hosting account. And not to link them together, search engine like google don’t link links within same IP address.

If you want to know more about domain issues an fact, and learn host to transfer domain name to new hosting provider. Visit http://www.hostmonsterreview.org/hostmonster/hostmonster-domain this hostmonster review blog will give you the most details.

With hostmonster 300gb hosting plan, you are allow to host unlimited number of websites/domains. This is througth the use off addon domains feature in cpanel. Parked domain is different case, and most newbies got confused with it, and do the wrong thing. Fact is that, you can setup few websites at this hostmonster shared hosting plan. I having 4 websites here, each with own TLD (.com, org, net.. etc)

Domain parking is domain pointers allow you to “point” or “park” additional domain names to your existing hosting account. This will allow users to also reach your website when entering the “parked” or “pointed” domain into their browsers. Meaning giving your website an alternative name. Few domain names, pointed to the same website.

Here is what wikipedia said about parked domains:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_parking

“Domain Parking is an advertising practice used primarily by domain name registrars and internet advertising publishers to monetize type-in traffic visiting an under-developed domain name. The domain name will usually resolve to a page containing relevant advertising listings and links. These links will be targeted to the predicted interests of the visitor and may change dynamically based on the results that visitors click on. Usually the domain owner is paid based on how many links have been visited (e.g. pay per click) and on how beneficial those visits have been. The keywords for any given domain name provide clues as to the intent of the visitor before arriving.”

You can easily access the parked domain feature from the hostmonster cpanel evolution main page. And you are allow to create as many parked domain name as you need it. Here is the account information at hostmonster account shows:
