If you are new to mysql database, first of all, you will need to setup one database. Click on add database, and input the new database name, done. After created the database, you will need to add user to this database, so this user will have access right to database. If no user is created yet, do the same, add a new user. View the database using the phpMyAdmin tool provided, scroll the way down.. and you will found it.

To allow remote connection to this mysql, for example from your home remote pc, remote location server, or other computer that you have. You need to add the “access host” to the list. Wildcard is allow. Meaning the whole subnet can be addded. After adding the host, you almost done. If the remote server is within hostmonster as well, then no need firewall setting, else you will need it. To remotely access your databases (outside hostmonster), you must contact host monster support to allow the connection through firewall as well.
