Already 16 months reviewing hostmonster hosting, and i am still doing it each month. Giving it a detailed review, posted up service uptime report, speed test report, and run some features review. Usually i will test out the features and wrote my review at here. Hope those information will become useful.
16 months are very long time, and so far i am really happy with hostmonster web hosting. At this moment, i am reviewing over 60 web hosting companies, and hostmonster hosting is my most recommended web hosting companies. Excellent in features, price, uptime and support.
I am thinking to give this hostmonster review blog a new theme/design… still searching for a new theme. If you have any wordpress theme recommendation, do post at this blog comment section. Thanks

i have no idea how companies like hostmonster stay in business. from the looks of the prior reviews this month on other review sites, it looks like hostmonster is cleaning house and getting rid of all accounts that are not generating money for them. well guess what? you shouldn’t be advertising the world if you can’t live up to them. they shut our site down this morning (without any prior warning) because of the apparently now standard “sql call” excuse. hostmonster’s name is now TRASH in my book and i will tell everybody far and wide what a ethically challenged “business” they run.

not sure what you refering to “sql call” excuse that given to you… for sure hostmonster hosting have database use limits, when you hit this limit, you will see temporary suspend page for next 10 minutes time.
i have been hosting with hostmonster for more than 20 months now, this hostmonster review site is hosted with them, and its still running.

Do not host with Host Monster if you or your clients want to use Microsoft Front Page! Very disappointed on how many times I have to re-install the extensions.
Help Desk is not any better, they say it is a Microsoft issue. Well hello, I have sites on three other providers and maybe once a year, if, have to reset them.
So, again avoid host monster for front page hosting and don’t believe their line it is Microsoft’s fault.
Oh, I have more than a dozen of sites with Host Monster, so it isn’t just this one.

Totaly agree with JS.
My srcipt, database , avarage visitors did not change. And suddenly in 2009 they just suspended my account with the mysql excuse. Not even a NOTICE just Suspended.

I have been using Hostmonster for about three months. Their servers are regularly down–almost predictably–nearly every day in the early morning hours U.S. time. I have spent countless hours trying to get them to solve the problem by migrating me to a new server . . . or ANYTHING. They are always very polite and prompt in their replies. And they do absolutely nothing. I wouldn’t recommend them. No way.

hi,
on your website downtime, try to check the site via ping tracert, this is to make sure problem is not caused by ISP or routes.
Next check for the hostmonster server status at here
https://www.hostmonster.com/cgi/serverstatus/
contact support and update them on server issue.

I had recently opened a domain with Hostmonster and disgusted by their service.
1. Customer service is unfriendly and impolite
2. Strange policy that you have to show a photo verification (Strange that they don’t ask this when you register/host a domain) for any addon’s upgrades.
I think this website, by promoting Hostmonster seems to have only the commercial interests in mind more than anything else.
Shame on hostmonster, shame on you.

A client of mine has been trying to get me to check out Host Monster for his domain because of the $5.95 price tag. Thanks to the comments on this blog post I now have some ammo to load my “you need to stay right where you are” gun.

I have been with Hostmonster for 18 months. Outages every month, mail problems on a regular basis. Don’t host here.
