Considering hostmonster hosting as your next moodle web hosting? Moodle is a popular open source course management system, that you can easily install at hostmonster hosting. Download the latest moodle scripts and setup the script at hostmonster hosting.
Moodle scripts requires following server environment:
- Moodle version 1.6 or later: the PHP4 (version 4.3.0 or later) or PHP5 (version 5.1.0 or later) are supported.
- Moodle 1.8 or later, MySQL (version 4.1.12 or later)
- php.ini configuration and .htaccess customization.
Moodle installation is not available throught hostmonster simplescripts or hostmonster fantastico, so you have to manually perform the moodle installation.
To begin the moodle installation at hostmonster, first upload the unzipped scripts to server. Next, create a new mysql database for this new website. Go to yourwebsite.com/install.php URL.. to begin the script installation. You are require to enter in necessary information next. Once you are done, the config.php will be created with all your data/setting previously entered. Moodle setup at hostmonster is now completed, simple as that.
I performed a demo test to install moodle open source at hostmonster hosting. The installation process is painless, quick, and very easy. Note that moodle is a popular scripts, and its design with user friendliness in mind as well.

Actually, Fantastico has a Moodle install script that works fine. So no need for a manual install for hostmonster clients. It’s located under “other scripts” in Fantastico.
