for domain name registered via hostmonster, either primary or addon domain, you can add domain privacy to it or renew its privacy protection. Refer to hostmonster domain manager under cpanel control panel for details.

Hi, just wanted to say, I was being prompted to purchase domain privacy for a number of weeks. However, just checked and it's gone back to the way it was on my account. woo-hoo! The free domain privacy was the biggest reason I went with HM.

how does one contact the domain owner of a 'privacy protected domain' ? i dont see any way to do so.

other registrars have a special form to make one-way contact to the owner : but hostmonster says they will not forward any correspondence whatsoever, and list themselves as the domain owner in the whois (but claim not to own it).

how can one make contact in this scenario ?

(i am looking to purchase 78club.com : contact me alex _at_ quosmo _dot_ com)
