Before this we review about hostmonster hosting plan with its backup feature, you can read more about that review at here. This is another review article which extend into more details about hostmonster web hosting and their hosting backup feature.
Hostmonster shared hosting plan is come with Courtesy Site Backups feature, and hostmonster support team did perform schedule site backup for your hosting files and data. However this is at their discretion and not 100% guarantee of timely backup data.
“Important: Hostmonster.com assumes no responsibility for failed backups, lost data, or data integrity. Hostmonster.com is unable to provide copies or create automatic backups for sites above 4 gigabytes in size. You may create your own copies using SSH/Shell Access. If you need help using SSH/Shell Access please see our article on SSH Commands“
Hence its advice to use the hostmonster cpanel backup utility to perform regular site backup. What you can do is either use the “manual backup” or the “backup wizard” to get the job done. Manual backup allow you to instantly backup your hosting main directory, database files, email forwarders and email filters. Else you can use the backup wizard that have backup and restore feature, that you can download backup copy or restore backup copy of files. Make sure you keep a copy of your web files and database files at your local computer. We had backup our hostmonster hosting main directory files & database files regularly, please do the same for your hostmonster hosting account too
Hostmonster shared hosting is budget hosting selling at $3.95/mo special promo price, and its with complete file backup features inside. This is the unlimited web hosting plan at affordable price.

The backup wizard was great. I used it frequently. Until today when Hostmonster simply removed it.
I accept all the limitations of shared hosting, but arbitrarily removing features that were part of the service I have already paid for is unacceptable. Not that they seem to care. I suspect this is just a foolish attempt to get customers to pay for “pro” services.
If that’s the plan, I’m looking for a new hosting company. Pity.
