From Hostmonster hosting’s cpanel X, you can find the backup tools and utilities. It’s a free tools included in every user account. You are adviced to periodically backup your site. The frequency of backup is depend on how often you make changes to your website. For my cases, where i update the website once a week, i will do backup after i make the new changes.
The website backup utility covering backup of your cpanel setting, and also database backup. For mysql backup, as an alternative, you also can use the phpmyadmin to backup the database through their export utility.
Its adviced that you copy and save the copy of the backup files in “.tar.gz format. For windows user, just save it as a normal file. And this is the file that you need to restore back your website in case of hostmonster server crash.

The backup utility is great – I have been using it for years. Until today when Hostmonster decided to remove it.
I have generally been happy with Hostmonster over the past 4 years, but they just removed an option on CPanel that I use frequently.
I can no longer download backups of individual mySQL databases.
Seems to me that they are getting greedy – selling services, then removing features which they want you to pay for separately.
This is a troubling sign. No explanation, and treating customers poorly.
